Meet the Expert

Dr. Ardestani holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Biomechanics, a M.Sc.
degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in vehicle control systems, and a B.Sc. degree in
Biomedical Engineering, providing her with a diverse and comprehensive engineering background. She is also a certified accident reconstructionist (ACTAR # 4142) with specialized
expertise in the download and analysis of Event Data Recorder (EDR) and Heavy Vehicle Event
Data Recorder (HVEDR) data.

Dr. Ardestani brings over a decade of experience in biomechanics, specializing in impact
biomechanics, injury mechanisms, and injury tolerance. She has completed two postdoctoral fellowships focused on tissue injuries, walking biomechanics, and musculoskeletal modeling. As an Assistant Professor, her research centered on traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, lower extremity joint injuries, and the biomechanics of slip, trip, and fall accidents. Her expert testimony in injury biomechanics has been successfully admitted in Louisiana, Florida, and Texas.

Dr. Ardestani specializes in accident reconstruction, handling cases involving passenger
vehicles, heavy equipment, commercial tractor-trailers, recreational vehicles, marine accidents,
and incidents involving pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists. With a strong foundation in
both electrical and mechanical engineering, she evaluates vehicle safety systems, including
seatbelts and airbags in passenger vehicles, as well as heavy vehicle air brake systems.
Her expertise extends to advanced vehicle dynamics simulations, where she analyzes complex
scenarios such as rollovers, load shifts, and braking performance. Leveraging cutting-edge

modeling software, she assesses vehicle responses under various conditions, including high-
speed maneuvers, uneven terrain, and evasive actions. Her work frequently involves multi-body

dynamic simulations to evaluate stability, predict rollover thresholds, and assess load transfer
impacts on vehicle handling and control. With this extensive experience, Dr. Ardestani provides
precise, data-driven insights into accident causation and vehicle behavior.
